For and against the use of resources in Antarctica...............?

The only one which is currently harvested is krill, and this isn't a great idea since it is the basis of the marine food web down there. No minerals should ever be mined as the energy required to operate in antarctica is astronomical, you have to use energy to have water because everything is frozen. The risks of spills will be very high, by sending more ships down there you risk the introduction of invasive species and it is the last remaining pristine wilderness. I mean, wouldn't it be great if there was just one place in the world that we didn't **** up for our own selfish desires for stuff that when you think about it we don't actually NEED?
