Huawei Ascend for METRO PCS Android Update to 2.2 or 2.3?

Please anybody help me update my android. I have 2.1 and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get to 2.2 or 2.3 or anything. Please do not send me to a Huawei website, I have been there and I do not understand anything they are talking about. I do not know what rooting is, so don't tell me to do that. I need someone to tell me step by step how to do it on my phone. Not Cricket, not anything else. I cannot begin to explain my complete frustration at this process. My phone is slower than molasses in Antarctica. Please help me!
