Visiting cold region, should I get a vitamin shot or...?

I have an eternal hatred and weakness to the cold, and next week I'm visiting Melbourne, Australia. About as close as you can get to Antarctica on the mainland. This will be my second time visiting during winter. During the first time, I took slightly sick. Can I go to my GP and get flu and vitamin shots, or should I just eat lots of oranges and rug up?
